Overview

The Happy Living Alone project is dedicated to alleviating loneliness for young people living alone in large cities. Our goal is to turn the experience of lonely living into a joyful and fulfilling one, even within the confines of rental accommodations. Through innovative service design, we aim to help young urban dwellers embrace the state of being alone, feel a sense of belonging, and cultivate a self-sufficient life.

INSIGHT

Social interactions, sense of belonging, motivation...

a. Many people don't need to have actual social interactions with someone to dispel loneliness. Being around people physically or remotely, hearing the sound can give them a sense of companionship.

b. Many solo-living young professionals don’t have a sense of belonging to their accommodations because they only rent the place, don’t have connections with the neighborhood, andmove house very often etc.

c. The pressure, anxiety, low self-esteem, and insecurity from real-life problems intensify people’s loneliness.

d. Setting up targets or making plans can give people something to expect and give them motivation in life and reduce their loneliness.
