This is a speculative project about menopause in 2038.

The service, MIKIO is a transmedia storytelling platform that addresses the challenges faced by millennial females during perimenopause and menopause with a focus on empowering women to reclaim agency and embrace their body transition. MIKIO transforms their stories into captivating intellectual property (IP) across various media formats. By sharing these stories, MIKIO aims to shatter the stigma surrounding menopause and inspires females to confidently navigate this transformative stage of life.

FUTURE SCENARIO

In 2038, Millennials females who were born in 1980-1996, now 42-58 years old.They are playing a leading role in fighting with perimenopause and menopause.

Millennial females will find themselves in a situation when they reach perimenopause and menopause, as they are immersed in new technologies but still hold onto patriarchy, existing old-fashioned beliefs, and struggle to fully let go.

FUTURE PROBLEMS

At the core of this struggle lies the instinct of avoidance, which is the innate desire to avoid inconvenient or challenging situations. These challenges can add to the stigma associated with menopause, including limited agency, lack of appropriate attentiveness to symptoms, lack of access to solutions and emotional distress at uncertain circumstances.

PROPOSITION

MIKIO is a storytelling transmedia platform that transforms their perimenopause journey into IP for various media to help millennial females, who are prone to avoidance behaviour, regain agency of their lives and body transition and think about their next life stage with the highlights of the fact that each Millennial woman is the hero of her own life.
