Collaboration

Soapbox Islington is a charity youth centre, and it can provide us with indoor space, while we can attract more people for them. Eatclub is a healthy food club that can offer us dietitians and chefs, and we will give them funds in return. Prepkitchen is a healthy food supplier; we can buy food and materials from it. We are so excited to have this chance to collaborate with them. And they provide us with more help.

PROJECT INTRODUCTION: 

For Graduate migrant employees mostly experience alienation in the context of unacquainted culture. Due to a limited social network, graduate migrant employees depend on rich food from their home countries to feel a sense of comfort and connect to others. They only socialise with people from their countries, consequently ending up with harmful diets and social isolation.






INSIGHTS

Dish & Story aims to help graduate migrant employees build positive social relationships through a healthy diet to manage their health better. How might we build positive social relationships through healthy food for graduate migrant employees so that they can break the vicious cycle of unhealthy diet to manage their physical and mental health better? Dish & Story is a platform organising migrant employees to socialise through healthy food and build gradually deeper friendships in four stages.

HOW DOES DISH & STORY WORK

There are four stages of services. We used seed, shoot, sapling, and tree as the metaphors for these services.

The Seed stage is about realisation & meeting, and in that, we aim to help users meet more new people and help them realise a new healthy lifestyle.

In the second stage, users will make acquaintance with more people, and try different healthy food.

In the sapling stage, they are going to step forward to making friends with others, including those they have met previously, and learn how to make healthy food with the help of a chef and dietitian.

In the last stage, their friendship and awareness of a healthy lifestyle will grow like a tree since they will get a chance to practice new recipes, influence more people to get involved. They will also have a life-long influence on themselves.

TOUCH POINT DESIGN

A series of games for facilitating their social connection are applied in all these four stages, and we designed a mock-up, homepage, join and blog page.
